Wind Check: What Has Already Changed in Me?

Issue 18 Companion Reflection
Clarity in the Wind: What Has Already Changed in Me?

When we are waiting for something to change, it is easy to focus on what has not happened. The prayer is still unanswered. The situation remains unresolved. The circumstances look much the same.

But this week’s Clarity in the Wind asks us to look somewhere else.

Philippians 2:13 reminds us that God is at work within His people. Sometimes we recognize that work when an old situation produces a different response. What once overwhelmed us no longer has the same power. We recover more quickly, respond with greater wisdom, release control more readily, or trust God in ways that once felt difficult.

Look Back Before You Look Ahead

For this week’s Wind Check, choose a point of comparison. Think about yourself six months ago, a year ago, or even several years ago.

Then ask:

What has already changed in me?

Where are you responding differently? What has less power over you? What truth are you learning to trust? What can you release more easily?

You are not looking for perfection. You are looking for evidence of formation.

When you recognize it, thank God for His work. Then consider where you want to remain open to His continued formation.

Before You Finish

You can still pray for your circumstances to change. Just do not let what has not changed keep you from recognizing what has.

Before you decide nothing is changing, look again. You may be looking in the wrong direction.
