Wind Check: Can You Be Right and Still Be Wrong?

Examining our responses when our convictions are challenged.

Clarity in the Wind | Issue 25 Wind Check

“But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head, Christ.”

Ephesians 4:15, NKJV

Before You Begin

Sometimes we walk away from a disagreement convinced that what we said was right, but we haven’t considered whether we handled the conversation well.

We may have communicated something that was accurate, addressed a legitimate concern, or stood firmly on a biblical principle. Yet our tone, attitude, or unwillingness to listen may have revealed something about us that also needs attention.

This week’s Wind Check invites us to examine how we respond when our understanding, decisions, or convictions are challenged.

The purpose isn’t to question every position we hold or assume responsibility for someone else’s behavior. It’s to consider whether our conduct reflects the truth we profess.

As you work through this reflection, think about a recent conversation or disagreement. Be honest about what happened, what you felt, and how you responded.

A Scripture to Carry With You

“With all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love.”

Ephesians 4:2, NKJV

Spiritual maturity doesn’t mean we’ll never disagree. It means we’re continuing to allow the Lord to shape how we respond, even when we believe our position is right.

As you move through this week, pay attention to how you communicate when someone challenges your perspective. Consider whether your response reflects the patience, humility, and love Scripture calls us to demonstrate.
