Wind Check: When Good Things Become a Distraction

Issue 13 Companion Reflection
Clarity in the Wind: You Can Be Busy and Still Miss God’s Will

“But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Luke 10:42 (NKJV)

Slow Down. Reflect. Respond.

This week’s Wind Check is the companion guided reflection to Issue 13 of Clarity in the Wind.

After reading this week’s newsletter, take a few quiet moments to slow down, listen to the Lord, and prayerfully examine whether busyness has begun competing with what matters most.

Based on Luke 10:42, this reflection will help you move beyond simply recognizing the tension between activity and faithfulness and begin responding to what the Holy Spirit is revealing.

This Week’s Wind Check Includes

  • A brief devotional reflection

  • Five guided reflection questions

  • Scripture meditation for the week

  • A prayer for reordered priorities

  • A practical weekly commitment

Designed to be completed in 10 to 15 minutes, this guided reflection provides space to write, pray, and remain attentive to God’s leading throughout the week.

How to Use Your Wind Check

Find a quiet place where you can spend a few uninterrupted moments with the Lord.

Begin by reading Luke 10:38–42, then slowly work through each section of the reflection. Don’t rush the questions. Instead, invite the Holy Spirit to reveal what may be competing for your attention and whether your current priorities reflect what God has entrusted to you in this season.

Rather than trying to make multiple changes, identify one practical step you can take this week to create more room for God’s presence and faithfully respond to His direction.
